Congenital Cataract Posterior Leniconus PCCC Optic Capture by Ike Ahmed
3 year old child with congenital posterior lenticonus/cataract. Anterior and posterior capsulorhexis performed. 3-piece acrylic PCIOL placed in the bag with optic captured through PCCC (haptic remain in capsular bag). No vitrectomy required. Capsular bag/LECs sequestered with IOL in this position. Perhaps the best ideal position for a PCIOL in these pediatric cataracts as reported by others. Note no hydrodissection performed due to posterior polar/lenticonus cataract, but hydrodelineation performed. Ike Ahmed, MD
